Guess what, guess what, guess what!!?





I made my first photography sale!!!

It all started earlier this summer when I visited this cute little lavender farm in Northern Virgina:  www.whiteoaklavender.com/ While I was there, I just happened to notice that the gift store didn't have any  cards or photographs. So...I got to talking with the owner, and ended up showing her some pictures I had just taken of her lavender. She was so impressed that she asked me to design a few different lavender photo cards, and come back with them in September. My mom and I worked hard and managed to make 6 really nice card designs. Recently  we made a trip back to the lavender farm with the finished products in hand. The owner loved the  pictures! She bought $50 worth of greeting cards, and told me that she would definitely be in contact if the cards are selling well.

Flowers & Things Photography started less than a two weeks ago, and already we made a sale! I can't believe it! This is the first time I've actually made money with photography; it makes me very optimistic about the future. Already we have a decent stock...a few contacts that are helping us find places to market our products...and a business meeting with a local boutique lined up for next week. I never thought I would be this lucky. I didn't think it was possible, but now it looks like my little dream might actually become a reality.
